Old school GOOD PEOPLE! There is no room service or continental breakfast but it matters not as you are surrounded by places to eat. These folks even left me a key one day when I arrived late at night and trusted me to pay the following morning. You may get a cup of coffee in the morning and chat with the workers who are genuinely nice, good people! They will work with you if you need to check in early or check out late or whatever you need. THE EMPLOYEES are AWESOME! It is a family run business and by the time you check out you will be on a first name basis with the folks on the other side of the check in desk. A single night is even very reasonable for what you get. But if you have some down time and it's the off season you can rent a room there for a month at a really good price! ($600-$900). MOST of the time it's quiet there and that means you can get a great deal on a room! PRICING is seasonal so check first. This is a spring break gathering point so it's busy then, and it gets busy during the hot hot south Florida summers. There is an amusement park down the street but it is only open seasonally. THE LOCATION is walking distance to many bars and restaurants. There are kitchens in the room and it is more of a small apartment than a typical hotel room. Just sitting there is very fulfilling if you enjoy beautiful scenes. There is a nice pool, and a deck out back by the beach where people hang out and play cards or just relax. THE HOTEL itself is an older building but very clean and spacious. There are beautiful shells to be found and endless stretches of this gorgeous beach to walk. The sand is not like normal beach sand, it's actually pinkish powder, as opposed to 'sand'. THE BEACH: You couldn't ask for a more beautiful spot on the beach. I actually copied the title from google maps, as it is so accurate. The goods of this place, however, far outway the bad.) We were assured that rooms were to be tended to daily but it was always a bit of a roll of the dice. It wasn't a big deal but a strange situation to have to ask for room service. Also, small amenities were oddly absent: no dish soap salt or pepper. A couple of days, baskets were not emptied nor beds made. The only complaint is that housekeeping is spotty. The bathroom is small but sufficient, though our fan sounded like a jet engine. It is cozy and casual with direct and easy access to the beach. The "action" was down toward the west so the main beach walkers were shellseekers or families building sandcastles.

The kitchenette was perfect for eating in and the room was spacious with a full couch and balcony overlooking the pure white beach and spectacular blue ocean. Room 310 is perfect-just off the elevator. (For less money, you can stay in units across the street.) We were in the last week of winter so got seven days for the price of six. Only three stories high, each room has a million dollar water view from the balcomy. A vintage "Mom and Pop" motel, it is directly on the beach near the east end of the "strip," on a small road tucked off the main drag. The Sunset Inn might be the closest to a mainland oasis. It is difficult to find any place that feels quiet and serene. Panama City Beach is a zoo with miles of typical beach businesses and crazy college kids in the spring.
